Perspectives IV - ENTANGLEMENTS
The exhibition Entanglements brings together two artistic positions in a compelling dialogue between myth and the contemporary world.
In the works of Yongbo Zhao, social and political structures are condensed into a powerful visual language: oversized toad-like figures serve as a metaphor for a ruling system, while smaller, wounded, and oppressed creatures represent “the people” — a field of tension defined by power, dependency, and vulnerability.
In contrast, an etching by Ernst Fuchs depicting Daphne and Apollo explores a mythological entanglement of transformation, desire, and withdrawal.
Between these two poles, a space of overlapping narratives unfolds: mythological and political, corporeal and symbolic interconnections in which questions of power, identity, and transformation intersect.
